Title: George Adams - The first night of the Blitz.
Description: George witnessed the first night of the Blitz in September 1940. He was working on the river when his vessel, which was towing barges, was caught in the middle of an air raid. He passed the Surrey Docks, where the timber ponds were ablaze. The firestorm at the docks blazed from end to end for a whole week.
