Title: The site of the former Lady Dock.
Description: The site of the former Lady Dock in August 1970, looking south west from Acorn Yard towards Quebec Dock. Closed with most of the Surrey Commercial Docks in 1969, the Lady Dock was filled in by the following year. The Surrey Commercial Docks, built in the days of small sailing ships, had no future in the age of container vessels, and closed completely by the end of 1970.
