Title: The death of Nelson, 21 October 1805.
Description: Devis visited the 'Victory' when she arrived in Portsmouth with Nelson's body on board and did special studies of all those involved in this famous scene in the vessel's cockpit. Chaplain Alexander Scott is rubbing Nelson's chest to try and relieve his pain, while Surgeon William Beatty takes his pulse and Captain Thomas Hardy (standing right) looks down at his friend.
