Description: A plaque commemorating the Swedish Lutheran missionary Agnes Welin, who (as Agnes Hedenström) founded the Scandinavian Seamen's Temperance Hostel in Garford Street, near the West India Docks. The hostel closed after her death in 1928, and reopened as a Salvation Army Hostel in 1930. The Hostel closed in June 2003, and the building is earmarked for demolition.
