Description: The completed transatlantic cable being transferred from the Telegraph Construction and Maintenance Company's works at Enderby's Wharf, Greenwich to the hulk 'Amethyst', lying in the River Thames. Enderby's Wharf was typical of many specialist wharves serving a single business rather than handling general goods.
