Title: Canning Town Generating Station cooling towers.
Description: Canning Town Generating Station was built in 1903. It originally used huge ponds to cool the large ammount of super-heated water that was a by-product of the electricity generating process. The pools at Canning Town were later replaced by two natural draught towers, each of which was 280 feet (85m) high. These were eventually demolished in 1984.
