Title: One of the Great Eastern's grappling hooks.
Description: Large iron grappling hooks were used to lift the lost telegraph cable from the ocean floor. The crew of the 'Great Eastern' tried to retrieve the cable on 3 August and again on 7 August, but to no avail. Eventually they succeeded on 11 August 1866.
