|Description: An artists' impression of the waterfront at Rotherhithe. The wharves, repair yards, lodging houses, lighters and barges have long since vanished. The tavern building depicted in this drawing does, however, survive today. The Angel tavern dates back to the 17th Century, however, in the 19th century it was partly rebuilt and expanded.|
