Description: Placing Donald's patent elevator-conveyor on board the SS 'Persic' (1899) at the Tilbury Docks. The 'Persic' made her maiden voyage in 1899 from Liverpool to Sydney via Capetown. Her rudder broke at Capetown and the voyage was delayed until a new one could be sent out from her manufacturers, Harland & Wolff.
