Description: Stevedores placing cable drums in the hold of the the P&O vessel 'Strathconan' (1967) at the Royal Docks in August 1969. The 'Strathconan' sailed from London on 21 August 1969 with 500 tons of 33 KV Supertension, Pilot and Telephone cable. She was bound for Kowloon, Hong Kong. The cable, made at Belvedere in Kent by British Insulated Callender's Cable Ltd., was destined for the China Light and Power Company Ltd.
