Description: An 'Illustrated London News' engraving from May 1886, showing the fish porters at the Billingsgate Fish Market in the City of London. Huge quantities of fish were brought here by rail and via the Thames, and distributed throughout London. The market had a reputation for the freshness of its products. It moved to Poplar in 1982.
