Description: A view from the Isle of Dogs, 1889, slightly off the central axis to the west, with neither the Queen's House nor Royal Observatory visible. Thames barges (one carrying hay), lighters under tow and other craft are in the river. The vessel in the right middle ground is a heavy-lift mooring tender. On the far right can be seen part of the west-wing frontage of what is now the National Maritime Museum, then the Greenwich Hospital Schools.
