Description: A memorial plaque to Leading Fireman Stephen Maynard in Limehouse Basin. Fireman Maynard died fighting a fire on the MV 'Rudi M' in Limehouse Basin on 25 January 1980. Even with the demise of the inner London docks and wharves, occasional fires in the port districts still take a tragic toll.
