Description: A passenger steamer on the Thames at St. John's Wharf, Wapping. Vessels such as these operated passenger services between London and places like Tilbury and Gravesend. The first river service had been started in 1815 by the Clyde-built paddle steamer 'Marjory' (1814), the first steamship to make its appearance on the Thames.
