| Description: This view of the 'Warspite' was taken just before she was moved further along the Thames, 'to a more open situation lower down the river' – the village of Stone, near Greenhithe. This vessel was destroyed by fire on 20 January 1918, and replaced by the former HMS 'Hermione', which had served in China during the Boxer Rebellion, and been a guardship at Southampton during the First World War. |
