Description: A dramatic scene in the interior of Lloyd's of London - anxious faces analyse the Loss Book in the aftermath of a severe storm. Every vessel lost was recorded in the book. Lloyd's was a society of underwriters who accepted insurance risks for their personal profit or loss. They were liable to the full extent of their fortunes to meet insurance commitments.
