Description: The Blue Funnel Line's 'Melampus' (1960, 8,509 GRT)) in the Royal Albert Dock in August 1964. Built by Vickers-Armstrong, her career as a Blue Funnel ship came to a disastrous end. Returning via the Suez Canal in August 1967, she was trapped in the Great Bitter Lake after the canal was closed following the outbreak of the Six Day War. She was abandoned to the insurers in 1971 and was later sold to a Greek line.
