| Description: The 'Owen Glendower' was built at Blackwall, and was one of a series of armed East Indiamen which were known as 'Blackwall frigates'. They were developed when the East India Company's monopoly of trade with the East was stopped in 1833 and the trade was thrown open to private companies, many of whom had chartered their ships to the company. |
