Title: London Docks.
Description: The London Docks were opened in January 1805 and cost £4,000,000. The whole complex covered 90 acres of which 35 acres were water and over 500 acres of warehousing, sheds and vaults. There were 20 warehouses with 259 floors in them, 18 sheds, 17 vaults and 6 quays with three entrances from the Thames; Hermitage which was 40 feet wide, Wapping, 40 feet wide and Shadwell, 45 feet wide. This illustration was one of the plates in Henry Moses' 'Sketches of Shipping' series.
