Repro ID: H5313
Description: Woolwich Dockyard had been one of the first of the Royal Dockyards. It had been founded by King Henry VIII in the early 16th century. Its location on the Thames, though conveniently close to London, made it less practical as warships grew in size. It closed in 1889.
