| Description: Built at the Thames Ironworks and launched in 1863, for many years HMS 'Minotaur' was the flag ship of the Mediterranean Squadron. During her stint in the Mediterranean she was commanded by the Duke of Edinburgh. She was 400 feet long and had a displacement of 10,690 tons. Her maximum speed was 14 knots and she was armed with four 300-pounder breech-loading guns and twenty-six 180-pounders. |
