Title: The Royal Naval College.
Description: A view of the Royal Naval College after a pageant. Before 1873 the buildings were part of the Greenwich Hospital established for the care of 'feable, sick or elderly' seamen. Some say that the grandiosity of the buildings prevented the hospital from giving adequate care to the so-called Greenwich pensioners - the buildings were not very practical. They were expensive to maintain and most of the hospital's money was spent on their maintainance.
