Description: Harry was born in 1925 and in 1941, aged 16, he became a wharfinger at Metropolitan Wharf, Wapping. After the war he worked as a casual docker at various places in the port, attending the 'call-on' each day. He remained a casual docker until the final phase of decasualisation (when all dockers finally became full-time workers) in 1967.
