Description: At an early point in the first millennium AD one or more groups of Indonesians sailed to East Africa, the Comoro Islands and Madagascar. They brought with them plants such as some varieties of bananas, sweet potato, coconut and rice. They also brought the outrigger canoe with its square sail.
