Title: The entrance to the St Katharine Docks.
Description: The entrance to the St Katharine Docks, photographed in June 1960. Hemmed in close to Tower Bridge, these docks were always more famous for their warehouses than their facilities for shipping. They were losing importance long before their destruction during the Blitz, and were never properly rebuilt.
