Description: One of ten views done by Stanfield from 1827 for Cooke's 'Views in London ...', which was issued serially, in twelve parts of four copper-engraved plates and published as a volume in 1834. Much of the basic sketching was done by Cooke's son, Edward William, later Stanfield's principal follower as a marine artist, from which he and other contributing artists worked up scenes like this atmospheric view of Greenwich Hospital.
