| Description: When the Admiralty moved into new premises in Whitehall in 1725, it was decided that the Navy Board, over whom the Admiralty had responsibility, should move to a site much closer; from Seething Lane behind the Tower of London to new offices at Somerset House. The Royal Naval Museum, here exhibiting ship models, was also located at Somerset House. |
