Title: The Sun Flour Mills, St Leonard Street, Bromley by Bow.
Description: Until the end of the 19th century, most food-processing plants were small. The Sun Flour Mills were typical, receiving their grain by lighters on the River Lea. In time, the smaller mills would be eclipsed by larger concerns such as Rank and the Co-operative Wholesale Society, which set up huge mills receiving grain directly through the Royal Victoria Dock.
