Title: Rescue workers removing an injured person from the ruins.
Description: Rescue workers from a Heavy Rescue Team in Southwark remove an injured person on a stretcher. Rescues could sometimes last for days, often continuing throughout the bombing and air-raid alerts, as the rescuers struggled against time to free people from beneath the rubble. During their work, they frequently risked their lives in entering unsafe buildings.
