Description: On the left is Greenwich Castle, a Tudor hunting lodge remodelled from the 15th-century tower built by Duke Humphrey of Gloucester, about 1453. The Royal Observatory, Greenwich, was built on its foundations in 1675–76. Centre right can be seen the twin towers flanking Henry VIII's tiltyard (1515–16) with the buildings of the Tudor Palace of Greenwich to the right, beside the Thames. The Old Royal Naval College, designed like the Observatory by Sir Christopher Wren and built between 1696 and 1751 now stands on the site of the Palace.
