| Description: The view shows fishwives and oysterwomen landing the catch from boats at the inn's river steps, with others boats beyond along the waterfront. A young man and buxom oyster girl can be seen in the foreground, and an older man to the right between the legs of another pipe-smoking woman. A luxuriant potted plant adorns the bay window of the tavern and what is probably a recruitment notice to 'All Able Seamen' is posted by the inn door. |
