| Description: On 15 February 1804, a fleet of the East India Company carrying tea from China was intercepted by a French squadron led by Vice-Admiral Linois. Although the fleet of merchantmen had no warship escort, the attack was repelled by Sir Nathaniel Dance. East Indiamen were armed against enemy and pirate attack. |
