| Description: R & H Green and Silley Weir's Blackwall Dry Dock. Green and Silley Weir was one of the largest ship repairing companies in London. As late as the 1960s, 8000 men were employed in ship repairing in the port. Among their number were many specialists including engineers, fitters, boilermakers, platers, rivetters, welders, shipwrights, painters and plumbers. |
