Title: The start of the Thames Ironworks Handicap at the Memorial Ground cycle track.
Description: The Memorial Recreation Ground still exists today, but the area of the cycle track is now a grass pitch. There was a grandstand, shown above, half way down the home straight of the track opposite Memorial Avenue. A modern pavilion now stands in its place.
