Title: Shipbuilding foremen at the Thames Ironworks.
Description: By 1900 the Thames Ironworks had developed into a large-scale industrial centre. As well as the shipyards, there were iron and brass foundries, plate cutting shops, angle-bending furnaces, smithies, punching shops and drilling sheds. The ironworks covered nearly 27,000 square yards of building space and had a frontage onto Bow Creek of nearly 1200 feet.
