| Description: The container port at Tilbury was London's best chance of retaining its status as Britain's premier port, but a series of labour disputes delayed its opening. Here the 'Jervis Bay', 'Encounter Bay' and 'Discovery Bay' - three container ships from OCL, Tilbury's biggest client - found themselves together in the port because of the strike of August 1970. |
