| Description: An eerie, almost surreal photograph of the 'Atlas' hospital ship in Long Reach. One of the last of the wooden men of war, her figurehead depicts the Greek hero of the same name. The 'Atlas' was transferred to the Metropolitan Asylums Board in 1881, and served as a floating smallpox hospital until 1902. |
