Title: The Lotta at London Bridge Wharf.
Description: The 'Lotta' unloading at London Bridge Wharf in front of Adelaide House in May 1939. The New Fresh Wharf is under construction to the right. The photo is taken from London Bridge, the most convenient spot from which ordinary Londoners could view the working of the port. From here, workers in the City could gaze down at what Tomlinson described as 'another life below' - the world of ships, trade and voyages to faraway countries.
