Title: The Batavier II (1921) in the Pool of London.
Description: The 'Batavier II' (1921, 1573 GRT) in the Pool of London in 1939. She is moored off the Custom House Quay, owned by the Dutch firm of Willem H. Müller. Their Batavier Line steamers carried freight and passengers between London and Rotterdam until 1958. The 'Batavier II' survived the war and returned to the Rotterdam run until the service ended. Sugar Quay, an office block housing Tate & Lyle and several smaller firms, now occupies the site.
To the left of the 'Batavier II' is the Billingsgate Fish Market.
