| Description: Boys and pensioners are lined up in the Painted Hall to receive the 'Nelson medals' in 1845. These were presented to every person who had been involved with Nelson's funeral. Pensioners first wore a uniform of dark grey with a blue lining and brass buttons, then the colour of the uniform changed to brown and then blue. |
