Repro ID: PY3311
Description: The scene is outside a rustic riverside tavern, with a barn to the right, a working man carring a basket on his back along the shore, a ship laid up on moorings and the hint of a church spire on the far side. Inside, through a window with the lower sash thrown up and one broken pane, a young man, young woman and older man look out on the exterior group. They are debating the Battle of the Nile, fought in Aboukir Bay near Alexandria, Egypt, in August 1798. The British fleet was under the command of Rear Admiral Horatio Nelson and the French fleet under Admiral Paul D'Brueys.
