| Description: Several tugs are moored at the Alexandra Towing Company's tug pier - the old North Woolwich Pier. The Alexandra was the biggest provider of tugs in the port, and was famous for its 'Sun' tugs. Tugs are used to guide larger vessels in and out of ports, docks and harbours. They are very powerful and extremely manouevrable. |
