| Description: Built on the site of C. J. Mare and Co's old works, the Millwall Shipyard was established in 1862. It covered 27 acres of works and shipyards, with a river frontage of 1,900 feet. The works consisted of machinery and erecting shops, foundry and copper shops, wood-working shops and an armour-plate bending and preparing site. |
