| Description: The River Thames at Blackwall Reach. This stretch of the river was a convenient place for larger vessels to lay-up. Blackwall itself was an important point of access to the Thames, with a direct route by land via Poplar and Ratcliffe to London. This avoided the long detour around the Isle of Dogs. |
