| Description: The Trafalgar Tavern, located to the east of the Old Royal Naval College, has long been a popular pub and restraunt on the Thames at Greenwich. This elegant building (1837) was designed by John Kay and was frequented by many literary figures including Thackeray and Dickens who set the wedding breakfast in his novel 'Our Mutual Friend' there. It became famous for political whitebait dinners for the Liberal party in Victorian times. |
