Description: Stevedores loading crates in the hold of the Strick Line's 'Tabaristan' (1969), shortly before her departure from the Royal Docks on her maiden voyage to Arabia and the Persian Gulf. The stevedores had to place cargo carefully in the hold to make sure that the ship did not become unbalanced and capsize. They also had to make sure that cargo was loaded in the right order for when the ship unloaded at different ports.
