Title: Greenwich from One Tree Hill.
Description: A painting proclaiming the prosperity and stability achieved through the restoration of the Stuart monarch Charles II (reigned 1660-85). The view dates from about 1680 and is taken from One Tree Hill to the north-east of Observatory Hill. On the left is the Royal Observatory built in 1675 and there are deer in the foreground on the right. The Queen's House in centre right with the unfinished wing of John Webb's new palace in Charles II further right. In front of this stand the ruins of the tournament yard towers of the Tudor Palace of Greenwich.
