Title: A view of Blackwall looking towards Greenwich, by John Boydell.
Description: Another of John Boydell's (1719-1804) engravings of England and Wales. At this time, Blackwall was an important centre for shipbuilding and repairs. The Blackwall shipyard, begun in the late 16th century, is visible to the right of this print. The yard built and repaired ships for both the Admiralty and the East India Company. In the far distance, beyond Blackwall Reach, is the Greenwich Royal Hospital.
