The Ghost of the Quaggy

Splash, Splash goes the ghost of the Quaggy,

     Shallow      Dirty

                                Smells like muddy water

                                And especially likes biscuits

At night when its misty

      It comes out     To eat
      And climbs        Up sand
      Up rocks           Like the
                            Sea eats
                            The land

Harriet Conti
Joint winner of the River of Words competition

The Scary Quaggy

The Quaggy
 Is dirty
  Tastes horrible

The Quaggy
 Is a scary green monster
  With wide eyes
    Eyes bigger than a person

It comes out all day and all night
 Looking for meat
  People meat
   It sits on them
And that’s how it swallows them

Elizabeth Conti
Joint winner of the River of Words competition
