Description: Entrance to the John Lewis department store at Canary Wharf. With the closure of the docks and wharves and the disappearance of manufacturing, the districts around the former port were derelict. Regeneration has meant the relocation of service industries - particularly financial services - to the area. In the Canary Wharf complex, shopping centres now cater for thousands of office workers.
